The three multimedia projects I've chosen to analyze in today's seminar are: Mi Sanfermín, The Bullstreets, and Let's Cook International.
For starters, all three of them use a very good design and set up for their home pages. I'll write the rest of my reviews for the multimedia projects separately.
Mi Sanfermín is extremely original and creative in the manner in which it depicts their website. It's almost as if they tell a story through each of the five characters it has. It gives the reader a very vivid and clear depiction of what each different type of person does during the festivals of San Fermín. Afterwards, when you click on a character, you delve even more so into the activities and events that transpire those 8 days. Each specific dish, event, or place has a well-positioned hyperlink attached to it so the reader can get to understand it better with details. The one in which they set up the main page is extremely creative because it's an organized mess. It makes you feel like you're reading a pop-out book and the fact that each character has their own personalized soundtrack makes it even more special. I think that Mi Sanfermín has just the amount of photos and videos to make it educational and enjoyable at the same time. All the multimedia resources used on this site are a great deal helpful in the narration of the festivities. What they have not been able to succeed in as greatly, though, is the use of social tools. The project does not have any Twitter, Facebook, or social page of the sort. Although it does have a kind of 'Contact Form', it is not nearly as interactive as Let's Cook International's Facebook or Twitter page. I find that the site's design is extremely innovative and also quite easy to navigate through due to it's set up and style. All colors, photos, and logos are more than adequately chosen and appropriate. The text is quite easily read as it is black against a white background.
The Bullstreets was the second page I chose due to it's attention seeking background and informative content. Since I live quite near to the old town of Pamplona I always enjoy learning more about it. But, to be honest, after actually reading through the site itself I realized that it does not contain enough information in it. It lacked a great deal more interesting things I myself know that could have fluffed it up a bit. Another thing I did not find so agreeable with this website is that the writing is very difficult to read. What with the actual script of the page along with the colors used, it's quite hard to read against the cobblestone background home image they have chosen. The style used for the titles and subtitles is very neat and pretty. The way in which the photos, captions, and videos were styled was also very appealing.
Let's Cook International is a very neat and orderly site which contains delicious recipes from places all over the world. The way in which they bring about the information on their site isn't exactly creative but it is very pleasing to the eye. They were quite sure to put a great deal of appealing photos in order to make sure the reader understood and craved what it was that they were speaking about. The photos easily achieve capturing the attention of the reader. At the time the website was launched, the creators were very good at interacting with their readers via a Facebook and Twitter page, although both those sites are really no longer active. It is extremely easy to navigate through this page as I previously stated how organized it was, it is also very easy to read and understand because the theme and colors of the site are clear. The recipes are all very easily understood and efficiently narrated.
